According to 'Nature Made' their B complex vitamin contains this: B-Complex supplement is a combination of essential B vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, Vitamin B-6 and pantothenic acid, along with Vitamin C.-link
Stress B complex contains this: Stress B-Complex supplement is a combination of 8 essential B vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, Vitamin B-6, folic acid, Vitamin B-12, biotin, and pantothenic acid, along with Vitamin C and zinc.
so the difference is folic acid, vitamin B-12, Biotin, and zinc.
A in depth article I found on this topic can be found : Here
I was taking a B complex formula last fall when I was enrolled in Dr. Munoz's ergogenic aids class. While studying the B vitamins, I looked at the percent of daily recommended values that the pills were and discovered that I was taking 2000 percent or better of the vitamins. Because of the dangers involved with taking so much over the daily recommended values, I stopped taking those supplements. By any chance did you look at what percent of the daily values those pills were?
ReplyDeleteIf you are only taking a b12 supplement i wouldn't worry too much about dose as no upper limit has been set because toxicity is almost unheard of. It is common for supplement manufacturers to up the dose of vitamins that are excreted in urine so you have to buy more often. However, it is important to know about what you are taking and proper dosing to avoid anything that could be harmful.
ReplyDeleteVery right gene, and sandy- I didn't get a chance to write down the percent of daily values for those 2 vitamins- and nature made does not state them online.
